MISSION STATEMENT
The Moroccan Children’s Trust is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) working to
achieve sustainable development for the communities of South Morocco.
In partnership with Groupe Maroc Horizons, an established NGO based in Taroudannt, we run volunteer projects and social and educational development workstreams.
Volunteer projects
By fully integrating our volunteers into the Moroccan community they live in and
arranging and supporting their work in a number of institutions, our projects help
to:
- create durable benefit for Moroccan young people and underdeveloped communities
- establish ties of friendship and facilitate cultural exchange between British and
Moroccan cultures
- help our volunteers immerse themselves in Moroccan everyday life and discover the
rich variety of Islamic, Berber, Moroccan and North African influences
- provide volunteers with a deep understanding and experience of working abroad, specifically
in development; and
- give volunteers a unique work-experience opportunity in working with, and improving
the lives of youth in need.

Social and educational development
Through our partners Groupe Maroc Horizons we take forward social and educational
development projects, to improve outcomes for young people in Southern Morocco.
This includes tackling female illiteracy, pre-school teaching, non-formal education
for children who have been forced to leave school, extra lessons for failing students
and organising positive activities.
