GROUPE MAROC HORIZONS
Our work in Morocco is very tightly linked to that of our partners, Groupe
Maroc Horizons (GMH).
GMH are a non-political, non-religious NGO founded in Taroudannt in 2002. They have
expanded to become a national organisation, with branches all over Morocco.
They manage a range of educational projects, seeking to improve the life chances
of thousands of young Moroccans and helping them to participate in positive activities.
The organisation is also committed to helping people with disabilities and special
needs achieve their potential, so that they may play the fullest possible role in
society, whilst also offering support to their families.
They now have a number of foreign partnerships. The Moroccan Children’s Trust and
Student Action for Refugees (STAR - SGUL) organised exchange programmes in 2007
and 2008 to contribute to our aims of cultural exchange and to ensure skills in
youth work were transmitted between the UK and Morocco.
Working in tandem with the Moroccan Children’s Trust and our volunteers, GMH is
currently expanding its work across the fields of health, the environment, and further
social projects.
