Our ongoing work in Taroudannt, be it supplying computers for IT classes, liaising with the parents of children who live on the streets or helping fund much needed youth activities, are all important projects with direct impact on the lives of children and their families. With your help we can continue to make the enduring difference that will make their futures brighter.

Where Your Money Goes

MCT relies on the donations of its supporters to continue its work with the poorest children and families in southern Morocco. Your donation will pay for the costs of our day-to-day work with vulnerable young people, providing for example:

  • Homework support classes to help children stay in school.
  • The legal costs of acquiring identity papers for children who do not have a legal existence.
  • Basic medical treatment to young people who cannot otherwise access healthcare.
  • Free time activities such as football and “Full Contact”
  • Home visits and follow-ups with the families by our 3 social workers.

MCT does everything possible to keep administrative costs low. The UK office is staffed entirely by volunteers, and our paid staff members in Morocco are supported by a large team of volunteers, so the majority of donated money goes directly to supporting young people and their families.

Case Studies

Oussama*
Oussama is a thirteen year old boy who lives at home with his mother and 3 year old sister. His mother is unemployed and they are extremely poor. He started staying out on the streets as a consequence of his family’s deprivation and was subsequently offered glue by other children. This led to a period when he lived principally on the streets until his mother sought help from a local charity which works with street children.
