About MCT

The Moroccan Children's Trust is a UK registered charity working to achieve sustainable development for young people and their communities in South Morocco.

What We Do

In partnership with Groupe Maroc Horizons, a well-established NGO based in Taroudannt, we run volunteer projects and social and educational development workstreams. Our sustainable approach is what separates us from other organisations, and our projects are culturally sensitive and embedded in the community.

We currently run 2 major projects. One is a volunteer project where we invite volunteers to spend a few months living in Taroudannt and working to aid social development. Please visit the volunteer page for more information. The volunteers get to stay with a host family and volunteer with local institutions such as schools and orphanages. The other is a project for street children that employs local people as social workers and teachers to help keep children in school and their homes and away from the streets, as well as to help with medical and legal problems that street children face. The volunteer project is funded by the volunteers themselves, whilst the street children project relies on donations form our supporters to cover salaries and administration costs.
